Jewellery should never feel mysterious or intimidating.
Over the years, many clients have come to me with thoughtful questions:
Is this worth repairing? How do I care for it properly? What should I do with pieces I no longer wear?
The Jewellery Owner’s Handbook brings together the answers I share at my workbench to help you understand, care for and make confident decisions about your jewellery.
Jewellery has never been just an object to me.
At my bench, I see what happens after the moment of purchase, the pieces that are worn every day, the ones that sit unworn in a drawer, the rings that have lasted decades, and the ones that quietly gave way.
And over the years, I’ve been asked the same thoughtful questions:
Is this worth repairing?
How do I care for it properly?
What should I do with pieces I no longer wear?
This handbook brings together the answers I give in those conversations.
Not as rules — but as a way to help you look at your jewellery differently.
Jewellery Should Work for You
I don’t believe in jewellery that sits untouched.
The pieces you own should feel right for the life you are living now — not the life you had ten or twenty years ago.
Sometimes that simply means wearing them more often.
Sometimes it means repairing something that has been left aside.
And sometimes, it means accepting that a piece needs to evolve.
Jewellery is allowed to change with you.
What You’ll Find Here
This is where I share the practical side of what I do, the part that happens quietly at the bench.
Over time, this handbook will bring together guidance across three areas:
Caring for what you own
Looking after what you already own and knowing when something needs attention.
Wearing & Styling
Making sense of pieces that no longer feel quite right, and finding ways to bring them back into your life.
- What to Do With Jewellery You Never Wear (coming soon)
Choosing new pieces
Understanding what you are actually buying and how to make decisions you won’t second-guess later.
A Different Way of Looking at Jewellery
I often say this to clients:
You don’t need more jewellery.
You need the right jewellery.
Pieces that you wear.
Pieces that hold meaning.
Pieces that feel like you.
Everything else can be reconsidered, repaired, reshaped, or simply let go.
If You Are Unsure About a Piece
If you have jewellery you are unsure about, such as something broken, inherited, or simply not quite right anymore, you don’t have to decide on your own.
I am always happy to take a look and give you a clear, honest opinion.
Sometimes the answer is a simple repair.
Sometimes it’s something more considered.
A Note
This is your jewellery owner’s handbook, it will grow over time built around the questions you bring, and the pieces that matter to you.
