I have always been fascinated by the bow. A familiar shape that has travelled through centuries of fashion, from the elaborate ribbons of eighteenth-century France to contemporary jewellery.
I named this necklace MARIE, or the MARIE, a little nod to the world of Marie-Antoinette and Madame de Sévigné, two very different women whose names evoke the elegance, individuality and cultural richness of French history.
For Marie, I wanted to explore what happens when a classic ornament meets texture and light.
I delicately hammered the silver to create a multitude of tiny facets across the surface of the bow. As you move, they catch and play with the light, producing a gentle twinkle that brings the piece to life.
Even the clasp is handcrafted, because the smallest details matter to me as much as the overall design.
The result is a sculptural silver bow necklace with its own personality: refined, playful and unmistakably contemporary.
