Responsible Jeweller – As part of our continous efforts to provide you with a jewellery that has been responsibly made, Essemgé has very recently officially joined The Fair Luxury Pledge 2021!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What is it? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
‘The Fair Luxury Pledge
Through the jewellery we create and the ways we run our businesses, those who make the Fair Luxury Pledge each promise take small steps to help:
- Conserve and restore the environment
- Work in a way that is responsible, transparent and accountable
- Play a role in educating and empowering others’
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Why?
Because committing is a first step, but having this type of accountability amongst peers makes it even more impactful.
This is a vast and very topical subject. However the current PR and marketing campaigns can sometime muddle the waters especially from a consumer perspective. Indeed what are the differences behind the concepts of responsibility, sustainability, fairness or ethical ethos? Do we all understand the same things behind those terms? Is there one that is better than the other? etc … As soon as you start looking into these issues it is very easy to feel confused and overwhelmed. The relentless communication efforts from all businesses, large or small across the economy, put these very real and important questions at risk of greenwashing unless we individually take responsibility for our actions.
That is the reason why we at Essemgé have decided to join The Fair Luxury Pledge.
You will find under our ‘Shop‘ page our current vision. As a small business any change has a big impact, it is a matter of striking the right balance but we have big plans. Therefore as part of our commitment we plan to release a mini series in instalments where you will be able to better understand the steps that we have taken so far in the running of Essemgé, as well as ideas of future developments. Stay tuned!
