These Grid and Pearl Dangle Earrings are part of the Integrity collection.
I took inspiration from the traditional 18th and 19th century Normand folk jewellery from my home region and brought it fast forward into the 21th century with a streamlined geometric look.
Highly decorative, this grid pattern has indeed been extensively explored in art throughout History. Its square shape represents honesty, solidity and stability. Here it has been tilted, with lines extending outside the canvas, introducing a more intuitive and spiritual dimension to the piece. I have also added extra luxury with pearls and stones, thus softening the sharp lines of the grid matrix.
The contrast of materials is a representation of our urban environments, where beauty and romance can be found in the most unlikely places and despite uncompromising conditions.
